Greenhouse, a recruitment tool, have a rather lovely feature that allows candidates to record their name so that the hiring team can address them properly. Greenhouse explain it much more on their site.

How good is this though? I mean my name – Ed – isn’t so hard, but I have family who’s names are constantly mangled beyond recognition and it’s all just a bit awkward and tiring. As someone interviewing I’d love this so many times I’m not quite sure how to pronounce a name – awkward again.

It’s a small feature that makes the world a little bit more welcoming. (And that’s a good place to be as a hiring brand.)
